UFOs, aliens and the question of contact

SETI has been observing the cosmos looking for paranormal signals. The organization believes that aliens are using radio waves for communication. But what if mankind already received the signal that we are looking for so many years? Researchers may have already detected the proof of extraterrestrial intelligence long time ago as Jerry R. Ehman recorded a strong narrowband radio signal from outside our solar system.

A Message from an Extraterrestrial Intelligence

What happen if mankind finally made the first contact with intelligent extraterrestrials? Humankind has been pondering this question since time immemorial. Despite no solid evidence for the existence of extraterrestrials, coupled with assertions of major religious leaders, some scientists, and government officials that alien stories are not real and Earth has not been visited by UFOs, over 80 million Americans believe otherwise. Many also believe that government has secret information on UFOs and aliens.

Skeptics can always criticize blurry videos and eyewitnesses reports on alien sightings. But what if mankind can get a message from outside intelligence or intercept some of their radio transmissions?  This possible scenario has been the favorite situation of various sci-fi movies but many believe that mankind have already received a signal from an alien intelligence.

The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) program uses different ways for scanning the heavens for signs of life through finding extraterrestrial radio signals. SETI believes in the theory that an advanced alien civilization would use radio waves for communication with narrow bandwidths and repetitive nature which make them easy to recognize from background radiation.

Jerry R. Ehman recorded a radio signal on the 15^th of August 1977 while working at the SETI’s Big Ear radio telescope of The Ohio State University in Delaware. It was a very strong narrowband radio signal that apparently coming from the outside of our solar system. It lasted for 72 seconds and was in the protected spectrum bandwidth intended for astronomical purposes only, and appear to be 30 times greater than the ordinary ambient noise of space. On the computer printout, Ehman wrote “Wow!” and eventually become the name of the signal today.

Since then, Ehman and many others have searched similar spot of space hoping for the return of the signal but they still get nothing so far. On the 35^th anniversary of the Wow signal, thousands of Twitter messages and videos from comedians and celebrities were beamed into the space as a late response to the one who sent the message 35 years ago. The message coming from us may take from 190 years to 6.8 million years because the nearest star in the sector is estimated to be 95 light years away while the furthest is 3.4 million light years away. 

It depends on how a person looks at it, there is a simple answer or more issues to the UFO sighting by a Bristol Township individual last few days.

The person, who wants to stay unknown, claimed that he, his better half and daughter spotted an unknown hovering object from their residence just before 8 p.m. The family stays around the Fox River north of Yorkville.

He reported they spotted 2 lights going east northeast, with colours ranging from pink, yellow, orange and red.

He said that the light sources were together with each other either one leading of the other or side by side and moving at a relatively fine clip and in the eastern sky.

The person described what he came across to the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, which covered it on their website.

Following the one of a kind story featured in The Beacon-News, another local, also wanting to stay unknown, mentioned he may have an explanation.

In an e-mail, he mentioned his family set off 2 lanterns in Yorkville that night, about that time, in that location.

The man stated that those lanterns were a tribute to his deceased father and son for his mother’s 70th birthday celebration. He noted he wanted to stay unknown since he was uncertain if what he made was lawful.

The first man accepted the lights appeared similar to lanterns, but he had dumped that reason primarily because there appeared to be nearly no wind on that night - not sufficient to move a lantern in the way he experienced. 

UFO are one of the topics that frequently discussed by online community. Some reports can be clearly identified as fake or edited for the objective to make foolishness to other people. Other reports are supported by videos usually posted by users of YouTube.

UFO community also uses social networking sites to collect UFO news items including the witnesses’ accounts. Many UFO believers are unfazed by several fake reports. They still very hopeful that one day, the next big UFO encounter will happen.

YouTube user danchek2013 uploaded a video showing two flying objects near the moon. A video like this is often dismissed by skeptics but as of the moment no possible manipulation has been drawn out in the comments.

Another video about anomaly on the moon was posted in YouTube and titled “Maybe the best Aliens proof so far?” The video shows a NASA photo that seems to show buildings on the moon. Some viewers claimed seeing buildings but others are saying they did not see anything unusual. See for yourself.

Disclose TV, which is known for its tagline “truth revealed,” has released news item about UFO on November 18, 2012 that was carried on Fox News 31, Denver. The UFO was reportedly sighted above Mile High City. The news anchor described the UFO sighting as “Mile High Mystery.” The strange sighting caught the attention of experts and ordinary people.

A person who claims to have witnessed the UFO asked to remain anonymous but Fox sent its own cameramen to the reported location to verify the story. They set up their cameras and indeed they amazingly caught similar images. The UFO sighting left residents and experts alike scratching their heads. Fox News mentioned that even expert cannot give a solid explanation of the sighting. Unlike the other commonly sighted UFOs, this one was faster than any other man-made aircraft. The UFO’s movement was reportedly unpredictable and it acted really strange that no witness had ever seen before.

In the first week of January 2013, a man from Dunedoo, New South Wales claimed to have witnessed more than 50 unidentified flying objects (UFOs) across the night sky. The witness, who want to be anonymous, requested help from the expert to investigate the apparent UFO activity in the area.

After knowing such report, president of UFO Research NSW, Marina Flynn, personally went to the area to observe the alleged UFO activity. She stayed the area for two nights and she managed to see nine lights in the sky. She mused that they were not satellites or planes.

Mariana Flynn also examined the footage of the witness and noticed green, pulsating light similar to the shape of a mushroom. She noted that some UFOs in the sky are not extraterrestrial in origin but could not find any definite explanation about the sightings.

Mariana Flynn said that some objects on the footage of a man appear to be man-made crafts. However, she noted that there are some real amazing footages to back his claim.

UFO Sightings Daily editor, Scott Waring, has been spending some time researching both current and archival NASA photos for evidence of alien activities which allegedly deleted by censor board.

Mr. Waring, who was in military service when he was still living in the U.S., claims to have gotten proof of alien activities on the Moon from archival sources of NASA. He noticed a doorway on the Moon that allegedly used as an exit point of a UFO.

He said that upon looking over photos of old Apollo 14 mission, he noticed anomalies in the surface of the moon. He observed a door opened and revealed blackness within on the first photo. He also found a circular fan like object on the open door. On the second photo, which was taken seconds later, it showed similar things, but only this time he saw a UFO coming out of the moon’s black doorway.

Waring decided to enlarge the photos to make things easy to see. He initially thought that the anomalies he has seen were just flaws in the photos. After he enlarged them by 20x, he saw the detail around the black triangle. He saw the dirt curbed downward into the blackness. He concluded that the anomalies were not mistakes in the photos. He further observed a circular ring like spaceport within the underground black area. The so called spaceport has two arms that point to the center, positioned at the 11 o’clock mark and the other was at the 3 o’clock mark.

What is odd on the two photos is that they showed similar things even though they showed two different areas, which means there are at least two openings in the moon, according to Waring. He concludes that a moon may not be a moon but a massive space station in Earth’s orbit.   

A white colored self-revolving cone was witness by a man at Puducherry, India hovered under the cloud cover, less than a mile away, according to the testimony on 11^th of July 2014 from Case 896 in the Mutual UFO Network witness reporting database.

The object was noticed on June 15, 2014 and seen for around two minutes. According to the report, the witness was waiting for a traffic signal when his child wanted him to take a look an arrow in the sky. When the reporting witness looked up, he found a conical flying object, revolving and passing over a cloud to another cloud.

However, the object soon vanished from sight when it crossed the second cloud and never returned.

The reporting witness also sent an illustration of the object’s shape.

Puducherry has four small unconnected districts, namely the Yanam on the Bay of Bengal, Mahe on the Arabian Sea, Karaikal and Pondicherry. Karaikal and Pondicherry have the largest population and largest areas, both part of Tamil Nadu.

The report is still under investigation by MUFON. MUFON investigates interesting UFO reports and provides conclusion afterwards. The UFO Network has already debunked some UFO hoaxes, but there were also many they classified as real UFOs, wherein they cannot provide natural explanation about the object or light.

The famous theory about large statues found on Easter Island in Great Britain is recently revived by a British television. Many people have theorized that the large statues were either influenced or created by the UFOs or aliens.

A theory that aliens visited ancient civilizations has been around for many years. This theory is made famous by author Erich von Daniken on his book “Chariots of the Gods?: Unsolved Mysteries of the Past.”

Daniken believes that ancient aliens played the main role in creating pyramids at Giza, according to Discovery News.

Similar thoughts have been around on Mayan pyramids found in Central America and the giant drawings in Peru’s Nazca desert.

However, scientists and archaeologists have long disregarded the theory by Von Daniken.

 The Wild Pacific Program discusses the origins of Easter Island’s large stones and makes statements such as “large stones of Easter Island have puzzled experts for so many years and the mystery of who built these incredible stones is still unclear to extraterrestrial believers as well as the reasons why they get there on the remote Pacific Island.

There have been questions about the purpose of the statues in the remote Pacific Island because the large carvings clearly suggest that they are not originally made on the island but from far away and just brought in the Pacific Island mysteriously.

The stones are actually made of tuff, a substance that is compressed and easily carved ash from volcanoes. They were taken from Rano Raraku volcano, which is now extinct, located on the northeastern part of the island. It is said that they were transported using logs and ropes to different places along the coast.

 For most scientists, there is no mystery on the origin of Moai. They said that many of the unfinished carvings can still be found on the side of Rano Raraku volcano; still embedded and only partially carved.

 According to the report by the British television, there is no mystery left on these carvings brought by extraterrestrial speculations.

 It added that real history as well as cultural traditions of ancient civilizations is often destroyed by intriguing and interesting fictional theories on ancient intelligent extraterrestrials or aliens.

The country of Sir Lanka was astonished by claims that UFOs were seen hovering across the small island as reported by witnesses. This incident made Medical Research Institute on December 14, 2012 to call on reporting witnesses to look for any debris they believe to have been coming from unidentified flying objects.

On December 11, 2012, a video from a television show showed unknown bright lights hovering in different parts of Sri Lanka. However, neither one of responding videographers was able to have accurate focus of unusual lights, which were recorded using cellphone cameras. The said footage had shown vague images, making it hard for anyone in identifying the identity of such lights. In addition, clouds obscuring the images of the sun added to the difficulty in describing the characteristics of claimed ufo lights.

It is believed that a poem, estimated to be written 2,500 years ago, explored how a flying machine called “Dandu Monara” was used by Ravana, a Lankan king, to kidnap a woman, whose husband made a trip from Northern India to Lanka for her safe return.

On the other hand, the spokesperson of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) rejected any ufo claims, insisting that what residents saw were just the lights coming from Mars, which is orbiting near the Earth, close enough to make a lighting in the dark sky. SLAF was also reported initiating steps to prevent speculations on UFO sightings or extraterrestrial invasion from spreading due to the fear that people would panic amidst such claims.
